milan and kiki got microchips! I was a bit concerned but they seem to be doing really ok. it started from my paranoia that something terrible could happen on the way to Ny and our kitties could be lost.
i can’t let that happen. they are supposed to live as long as they will ( and hopefully become Bakeneko, which is from a japanese mythology story that a cat past certain age becomes obake and live forever! i think. ) but, we will do everything we can to make this move least stressful to our kitties. come back here often to keep up with our move from nashville, TN to NY! ;)
Our kitties are very good when it comes to going to vet. Especially kiki, she cried once and after that, she settled in her carrier and was calm all through her vet visit.
Mialn, also is very good, stays on my lap without me holding him, but, he gets really really stressed and sheds a lot. i think it ages him! the title “Urashima Taro” is from another fairytale about a boy going to Ryugujo, the heavenly world underneath the sea, and the princess gave him a box and told him not to open and, he did, on no! and, he just turned grandpa. i thought of the story because, milan sheds so much from stress (poor milan :( ) and i felt like he;’ being Urashimataro today, youg milan to grandpa milan shedding all the gray hair!
leave the stressful time of the day, and enjoy the kitty pic of the day!

what she does best...licking! (click to enlarge)
after we came back from the vet visit, we made vegan pizza!! yay! last time, we failed, finding out that the dough had milk, but this time, we learned from the last mistake! so we made it totally vegan :) No cheese, Mcgee. Whitney doesn’t like fake cheese, so we just go without cheese.
but did you know a certain part of Italy eat cheeseless pizza? i had never heard of it, but i believe it! it’s pretty good! :)
i make my own tomato sauce, and today i challenged to make cheeseless pesto! they were good! i probably cooked them too long, so, the colors aren’t the best, but here’s the pic of our vegan pizza!

the white thingie you see is “koorito-fu” it’s just a tofu, i thought to add it to make it look more exciting ;) and i really was going to put the recipe for everything i made for this, but, i’m feeling pretty tired after the karaoke tonight. but, i loooooove karaoke! let me just end m night there.
i hope everyone had a great day! and i wanna thank Chris and Chen fot he comments! I’m still figuring out this blog thingie, but i got really excited to get your comments!! Thanks for reading :) night, night!!

Juicy couture adopted fur-free policy!
this is exciting!! I do remember the days when i was little and saying real fur is so much better. I was such an ignorant little girl. i had no idea what horrible things people were doing to produce fur as cheap as possible, it is unbearable. Once I learned how terrible things are done to the animals, I never wore real fur. it’s been years since i learned the terrible facts, now i see real fur and all i see in that is blood and sufferings, and i got so sad and frustrated that i couldn’t do much for them. i might not have much power, but if we all get together, we can have so much power and influence to help the animals! if all the consumers stop wearing them, the providers (designers, manufacturers, etc) will learn that they don’t have to use fur, be assured people will keep buying their products without real fur.
you can sign up to be fur free here! http://www.furisdead.com/pledge-furfree.asp?c=chfrplg
anyways! you can read about the Juicy couture going fur free, sorry it’s so wordy, I just pasted from the newsletter i get.
“PETA has had a cooperative relationship with Liz Claiborne Inc. for many years. Through our work together, the company has made—and continues to make—many great strides to reduce the suffering of animals who are used and abused in the clothing industry.
We would like to share an exciting development that has resulted from our discussions with Liz Claiborne Inc.: Juicy Couture—a high-end clothing company owned by Liz Claiborne Inc.—has now adopted a permanent fur-free policy. While Juicy Couture is still selling some fur items that were stocked before this policy was adopted, it has assured us that no new fur items will be procured and that as soon as the current stock of items has gone, the company will be completely fur-free.
We applaud Liz Claiborne and Juicy Couture for making this move, which will spare animals from suffering all the torment and abuse inherent in fur production.
Unfortunately, some companies continue to sell fur despite the fact that new evidence of horrific cruelty is exposed year after year. PETA Asia-Pacific’s recent undercover investigation in the Shandong region of China, for instance, produced video footage of rabbits who kicked and screamed as they were slaughtered. Another investigation into rabbit fur farms in France showed similar cruelty.
We need you to speak out and let the world know that it is never OK for any company to sell fur. Please let your voice be heard by urging these holdouts to go fur-free once and for all! ….”
