The curry Casserole was still verrry good after a day! Even though we forgot to put it in a refrigerator last night :P

I’ve been really into Taiwanese “素食”. I’m actually thinking about visiting Taiwan! And my friend told me about this Taiwanese Vegetarian restaurant in Flushing, I was so excited I went this weekend!!
Well, the picture is blurry as I mentioned on the entry before. At first I thought it was just me being really bad at taking photos, but, I guess it wasn’t just that! :P
I also tried to take a pic of the restaurant from outside but, being in the dark and the neon sign wasn’t helping, so, no pics of the outside, but got photos of the food!! :)
Appetizer: Veggie Nori Maki with brown rice

And we got Sasame Veggie Chicken and Veggie Chicken Curry Casserole, or something like that.


There were so many things I wanted to try, it was such a hard decision! So many yummy sounding food in menu, so little tummy. well, not that little, but you knoww what I mean, I can’t eat the whole menu at once! :P
I was so excited to eat the vegan cheesecake, but they were out, I guess I’ll be back soon!! :)

Whitney said the Sesame veggie chicken was the best veggie meat dish he’s had! But it sure was really good, I was excited to see that on menu, since I always see “Sesame Chicken” at any Chinese restaurant but I can never eat it since it was actual meat. But, I could finally try the Sesame Veggie Chicken! Thank you, Happy Budda!!!
I’ll be back to eat your dessert!!

But is it unsure if this way is easier, making all the food that lasts a while so I won’t have to cook 3 dishes and soup every meal. well.

from left, “Veggie strip meat namul” “stir fry lemon sauce” “zucchini namul” “Chinese noodle salad” “carrot namul” “shiitake no amani” and “cucumber namul”.

You might ask, isn’t it better to just make 3 dishes and soup before each meal than spending a lot of time making all these at once?
 Well, I can’t answer the question, bubba.
Since I made those, we could make Bibimbap! It’s a shame we didn’t have bean sprouts, it would’ve been even better with bean sprout namul!
As you know, we are always, always eating the pancake! My body or, tongue craves them! If you wanna try them, just give me a call! ;) You just need to tell me before I set rice! :P

I love love love grocery shopping. I say it’s my hobby along with sewing. And I found these vegan friendly guys! :)

They look like squidy. The ingredients were good too, I think the main ingredients are taro potatoes, and didn’t have chemicals either.
And I made stir fry.

do you see them on the right? They were very very chewy. I would eat it again, but don’t think it’ll join our staple at our dinner table like the veggie duck who did join :P

And the nuggets!

These guys are already flavoured. I just stir fried them with some veggies.

I think these are good for lunch, but not for dinner for me since it does have kind of a junky flavour :P But who doesn’t crave junky food, not me, I crave dem once in a while! So, it’s good to have this at lunch and eat more natural veggie food for dinner :P

I listen to Dolly and…make vegan corn bread!!! :P
FYI, this day, I wore a plaid shirt, denim shorts and cowboy boots to to go buy corns.
I may have not been born in South, but most of my time spent in the States are in South, I have a right to miss South! :P

Half of them has jalapeno in them, half are just plain. Later I did regret not putting jalapeno in all of them! :P

Here’s the recipe I used. thank you Vegcooking for always helping me with my non-Asian vegan cooking! :)

“Skillet Cornbread

This spicy-sweet cornbread is the perfect side for any Southwestern meal.

1 1/2 cups soy milk
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 2/3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup cornmeal
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. sea salt
2 minced jalapeño peppers (optional)
1 cup corn kernels
1/2 cup canola oil (or melted coconut oil)
1/2 cup maple syrup

• Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly oil a 10-inch iron skillet or a 9- x 9-inch metal pan and line the bottom with parchment paper. Place in the oven to warm.
• Mix the soy milk and the lemon juice to make “buttermilk.”
• Combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add the jalapeños. Set aside.
• In a food processor, purée the corn kernels. Add the oil and syrup and process until well-incorporated.
• Mix with the dry ingredients and stir until combined. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until browned.

Makes 8 servings”

the only thing I didn’t follow, I just used rice oil instead of the oil she suggested, they were still yum yum yum!!
