Another early dinner for one. I mist have been craving vinegar, I ended up making 3 dishes that are all strong vinegary flavor :P

  • cucumber and wakame seaweed in vinegar sauce (きゅうりとわかめの酢の物)
  • Mock chicken and veggies in soy Chinkiang vinegar sauce (モックチキンと野菜の黒酢醤油煮)
  • Parsley Tsukudani (パセリの佃煮)
  • Daikon radish and carrots in sweet vinegar sauce (なます)
  • Kelp seaweed (昆布の煮物)
  • Hijiki seaweed (ひじきの炒り煮)
  • White rice with grains ( 白米)
  • Kenchin jiru (けんちん汁)

I made the chinkian vinegar sauce dish for the first time, but i really liked it! :) numnumnum. I’m saving some for myself to make some noodle dish for lunch sometime! :)

And this was my lunch, made fried rice with the leftover brown rice. I mixed with all those little dishes i had in the fridge! :P

And whitney and I went to a grocery store and bought 6 oranges for $1, and surprisingly, the oranges were super fresh and super sweet, I might even say these were the best oranges I’ve had!

But then I made them into jelly with agar agar. Because that’s what I bought them for! :) Kempers are very well stocked with fruits this week, we got grapefruits, oranges, apples and a cantaloupe! We eat so much fruits now, we used to never do, strange!

Whitney’s working hard this week. Aka, I eat early alone :P

I cooked the parsley today, we didn’t waste any! Cuz you know, when you buy a bunch of parsley, the one bunch is so big and hard to use up all of them, I’m proud!

  • parsley “tsukudani”
  • Burdock steak
  • Simmered Hijiki with tofu
  • Simmered kelp
  • Veg chicken from store
  • Clear soup

And my lunch. I had frozen the spinach curry last week, I enjoyed ittttt.

Yaki-Udon! Turned out pretty well! :)

And dinner. My attempt to make spicy cold sesame noodle! It looks dry but it tasted like it! I just needed more liquid, and if I put more oil, it would be morel like the one from restaurant, but, I don’t do that, too scared for putting too much oil in my food now :P

Yes! We finally made it! We made it there even though the L train wasn’t running and had to take a shuttle to get there!! But it was worth a special trip!

But a tragedy happened, I went there, after so much time spent on their website drooling over their pictures of all the donuts they have and I had my mind set on getting a boston cream pie, and there was one!

As I was picking, the one boston cream pie had been picked and became someone else’s boston cream pie. I was like 3 minute late, cuz I think by the time I got there peeking it, the person had ordered it, so it wasn’t like I would’ve got it if I picked the other flavor soon enough.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh welllllllllllllll, Whitney is gonna get them for me some other time!

So, we got vanilla with chocolate, and peanutbutter and jelly to eat then.

And took home with these little cuties. Jelly filling and, I forget, raspberry?

We ate these the next day and they weren’t nearly as good, so it made us realize how fresh these are when we get them from Lulas’s too! Impressive! These 4 were all good but didn’t leave me feeling the way the cinnamon and coconut we got from Lula’s last time (they carry Dunwell donuts) left us feeling. it was like food orgasm, I’m telling you.

I am not lying, this is like the spiciest peppers I have eaten! And I’m not trying to be cocky, but I can take some heat in my mouth! But this one, way beyond! But I’m still eating them, in moderation.

Crazy thing is, when I cook spicy pepper, it makes me cough up, but this one, made me cough up just by washing them. Coincidence? Still, pretty crazy!

And I bought more red peppers thinking this time it was the chinese red peppers I wanted, but those are pretty spicy too :P Now I got so so much spicy peppers, at least I washed and cut in various ways and froze the first batch! So I’ll always have them, but, I guess my time is running out… I don’t think I could use up the peppers, oh no!

Whitney couldn’t eat since he took a long nap and wasn’t hungry, so I went ahead and ate alone again.
